Suorva dam was built in different phases (from 1919 till 1972) in the mountainous—”remote” (for the colonial and state power imaginaries)—upper valley of Julevädno (Lule river)...

...yet Suorva produced not only socionature transformations—i.e. of workers modifying the river and of labour in the river shaping their bodies—but even some design, which workers built and used in their free time for resting and enjoyment. 

The need of using the minimum of the very limited available wood on site... explains in turn why different widths were employed for the seat and back parts of the chair. Ytterpanel (the buildings facade panels) appropriated again by the workers during their spare time—in a seesaw movement and reusing them anew (!)
